Meet our Neighbors: Cone & Steiner

Pioneer Square has so much to offer. From quaint boutiques to ethnic cuisine, you will find everything you are looking for just a short walk away from Stadium Place.

Every month, new businesses are flocking to Pioneer Square and we love having them join the neighborhood.

Seattle favorite, Cone & Stiener will be Pioneer Square’s newest addition. This corner store bodega will be located right next to The Nolo and we can’t wait to visit. This cornerstone gem will be opening Fall 2014.

Next door to Quality Athletics, The Huxley Wallace Collective will team up again with Dani Cone (High 5 Pie, FUEL and Chico Madrid) and Retrofit Home (Jon Milazzo and Lori Pomeranz) for a second Cone & Steiner General.

About Cone & Steiner
We’re a thriving neighborhood market…a one-stop shop brimming indoors and out with everything you need. Think fresh flowers and hand ground flour; local produce and meats; the best dry goods and dairy…sweet treats and a highly-curated selection of gourmet prepared foods. In a unique twist on the urban general store, we also carry a robust selection of regional and global craft beers, wines and ciders. We even have our own growler station with six local beers on tap! Cone & Steiner General is reminiscent of the corner stores common in Seattle many years ago, with an updated take on today’s conscientious urban foodie culture. We source the highest quality products from local farms and producers whenever possible, and provide carefully-sourced, artisanal items from afar.

What Are Locals Saying?
Super cute, very well-curated little mercantile! I love the mix of pantry staples like Campbell’s and Annie’s and local, ready-to-eat goods. Love that there’s a tap for draft beers and a spot to hang out and enjoy a pint! via Katya L.

We can’t wait to have Cone & Steiner in the neighborhood! For more Pioneer Square neighborhood updates, find Stadium Place on Facebook and Twitter.

Pioneer Square is a melting pot of great cuisine. Craving a turkey and cranberry sandwich? How about Indian Curry? Look no further than Pioneer Square. Walk out of your front door at Stadium Place and into a mecca of great food at your fingertips.

Looking for a unique sushi experience? Our friends at Gaba Sushi have a creative spin on the traditional sushi experience. Gaba Sushi offers hearty sushi rolls made with sprouted gaba brown rice. Not only is the menu delicious – but also healthy. Go ahead – order 2!

About Gaba Sushi:
The rice used to make Gaba Sushi is no ordinary rice! It is a sprouted brown rice with higher amounts of gamma-aminobutyric acid. GABA rice is a fast growing trend in Japan and it is specially mill-ordered and used only at Gaba Sushi.

Gaba Sushi is MODERN SUSHI.
Our sushi rolls tweet, like, and check-in. Ok…they don’t really have hands but they do come in exciting fusion combinations. Like the HOT KISS Roll with 7 Spice Seared Tuna…Oh yeah!”
At Gaba Sushi you’ll find a wide array of sushi rolls made with sprouted gaba.

What Are Locals Saying?
Great place. Friendly service. Fresh fish. Real crab and wild caught tuna. Love the GABA rice.
Fantastic customization options. Where else can I go and build exactly the roll I want? That said, here I can also take an off the shelf recipe roll and ask just for the changes I desire. My perfect choice for fast customization.

My favorite rolls are tiger eye and mermaid. The Nigiri combo is also excellent. Highly recommended. Via M.S. on Yelp

Quality Athletics Comes To Pioneer Square

From five star dining to take away burritos, our neighborhood offers an abundance of dining options. Just walking out of the front door at Stadium Place, our residents have so many great choices at their fingertips.

Now residents at The Wave and The Nolo won’t even have to leave Stadium Place to check out the newest restaurant on the scene. An exciting new dining concept will be right inside our building!

logo_blackQuality Athletics boasts great food, excellent drinks, and promotes an atmosphere of camaraderie and team spirit. And the best part? The bar and restaurant will be located right here at Stadium Place at the corner of Occidental and King. Walk right out the door of The Nolo and into Quality Athletics for a great night out with friends and loved ones.

When Will Quality Athletics Open?
Quality Athletics will open in August just in time for the first pre-season NFL game.

Founder Josh Henderson describes Quality Athletics as “my take on a sports bar.”
“It’ll be fine food and drink … Similar to Westward. A little whimsical,” he said, adding that he hopes it will capture a nontraditional sports crowd, one not entirely wrapped up in sports.

Whether you’re a diehard sports fan or simply on the search for great cuisine, the folks at Quality Athletics will take care of you. We cannot wait until they open their doors – they will be sure to have a line waiting to get in!
