Seattle Welcomes Clint Dempsey To The Sounders

On Sunday, Pioneer Square played host to an amazing night of soccer that will go down in Seattle history. The energy level was high, the weather was beautiful and the Seattle Sounders welcomed Clint Dempsey to Century Link Field for the first time.  And we were sitting on the deck at The Nolo taking it all in!

A record Seattle soccer crowd of 67,385 got everything it could want in a victory over rival Portland, save for a goal by Clint Dempsey in his home debut.

The stadium was packed and we loved watching the crowds.  You can see the stadium from all of the apartments that face the south.  And while the crowd was enthusiastic, inside you can barely hear the roar.  The building is really quiet inside…even when Clint Dempsey took the field.

We still cant get over this view from the deck, you wont find this anywhere else in the city!

Clint Dempsey’s home debut with the Seattle Sounders turned out to be a happy one. In front of almost 70,000 fans in CenturyLink Field, the hosts beat arch-rival Portland 1-0 — although it was Dempsey’s United States teammate Eddie Johnson who produced the heroics, scoring in the 60th minute to secure all three points.
