At Stadium Place we place a high importance on the wellness of our team members and
residents. We believe that physical and mental health are key to a happy work environment for our team members and a happy home for our residents.
It’s no surprise that weight loss is consistently the number one New Year’s resolution. It may surprise you, however, that a measly eight percent of people who make a resolution are actually successful (Forbes).
Weight loss is a daunting goal. Rather than overwhelming yourself with the pressure of such a drastic change, break your overall goal up into smaller achievements that will set you on a healthier path and ultimately inspire long term change. Rather than focusing solely on weight loss, focus instead on overall wellness.
Here are some healthy starter goals for 2016:
- Simplify your coffee (no sugar, syrups or artificial additions!)
- Cut out soda and fruit juice
- Reduce your intake of refined carbohydrates
- Incorporate more vegetables
Stadium Place features a spa like fitness center allowing residents convenient access to state of the art equipment. An easy way to get started is to hop on a treadmill and try walking on an incline…you can even enjoy your favorite TV show while you walk!
Our team members are the heart of Pillar Properties and each year we honor those who have achieved remarkable success. The E.P.I.C. Award, which stands for Excellence, Passion, Innovation and Commitment, is given annually to one person who is truly exceptional in all areas…which is extremely difficult with a team as talented as the one we have. Congratulations to Nicole Kellogg who was named the E.P.I.C. Award winner for 2015. As part of the award, Nicole receives a generous cash prize, a trip to the annual NAA Conference and the opportunity to choose an organization that we will all support as part of our Pillar Passions program in 2016.

Nicole was honored with the E.P.I.C Award for her accomplishments this year at Stadium Place. As Assistant Property Manager Nicole has been a leader at the property and has received tremendous recognition by fellow team members throughout the company. She is focused on the success of her property and her customer service skills are beyond compare. She was the winner of the WMFHA Emerald Award for Assistant Property Manager of the Year and she has the chance to win two years in a row as she is a finalist again this year.
Eli DeBerry and Diana Norbury at the holiday party.
The Pillar Properties Quietly Awesome Award is given annually to one team member from the Operations team, Maintenance team and the Seattle Office. Eli DeBerry accepted the Quietly Awesome Award for the operations team from Diana Norbury, Vice President of Multifamily Operations. Eli is recognized for his work at Stadium Place where he lives and breathes customer service. Eli is frequently mentioned in online reviews from prospects and residents who are impressed with his efforts on their behalf. Eli is also a finalist for Leasing Consultant of the Year in the Emeralds Awards this year.
Tyer Patton accepting his award from Scott Haines.
Tyer Patton was presented with the Quietly Awesome Award for maintenance by Scott Haines, Vice President of Construction and Plant Operations. Tyler has been at Stadium Place as Maintenance Supervisor since before it opened and does an excellent job in leading his team to provide a superior level of customer service. No matter what the circumstances, Tyler and his team step up and solve any and all problems that come their way. Tyler is also a finalist for Maintenance Supervisor of the Year in the Emerald Awards this year.

Congratulations to all our award winners this year!
It’s the season of giving and as a long time Northwest company, Pillar Properties is committed to giving back to the community. As part of our Pillar Passions program, we select a local organization to support each quarter.
We just wrapped up our efforts for Toys for Tots and the results were spectacular.
Each of our properties and the team at the Seattle office put together a huge effort to help ensure that children in need were supported this holiday season. We also received donations from outside companies since our properties were official drop off locations for Toys for Tots.
Our total donation for Toys for Tots this year comes to $40,000 in toys and cash. We think that is an incredible effort and a ridiculously large donation given the size of our company. Thank you to all of the residents and team members who helped make this effort successful!
To continue with the spirit of giving, we made sure to give our residents a time to come together and celebrate the holidays with friends and neighbors! Stadium Place hosted a festive Holiday Brunch to spread the holiday cheer. The Stadium Place team woke up bright and early to cook a homemade smorgasbord of breakfast favorites and fresh Top Pot Seahawks doughnuts.
The Marine’s from the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation joined us to raise our 12th Man Flag before the hawks game…even Santa made an appearance! Residents and team members brought generous Toys for Tots donations and enjoyed taking their pictures with the Marines. We were thrilled that the Marines left with full bellies and boxes of toys! At the end we raffled off prizes for all who participated…including a Seahawks autographed football and helmet! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
‘Tis the season to eat, drink and be stressed out! The holidays need to be a time for family and a time for giving…not just for giving you a headache.
Here are a few helpful hints to get you through this holiday season, well…at least get you through the stressful parts, hopefully after reading this you will be able to sit back and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year!

We asked Property Manager Sarah for a helpful holiday preparation hint:
Sarah said holiday preparation should be fun! If you find yourself getting stressed, take a mental break. Sarah suggests taking a stroll to Delicatus for a deliciously comforting sandwich, save your cooking for the holiday parties!
One of the great things about Stadium Place is the community that’s formed among the people who live here. It’s our pleasure to host events that bring everyone together.
We recently treated our residents to a night of luxury in our most coveted penthouse home in The Wave. Residents and friends sipped champagne and delighted in hors d’oeuvres and desserts while taking in the stunning city views. We wanted to make our residents feel like a million bucks as they enjoyed a one in a million view!
Our friends from E. Smith Mercantile converted The Nolo lobby into a cocktail lounge perfect for hosting a Stadium Place cocktail hour. The famous cocktail crafters previewed their fall and winter cocktails as well as their scrumptious food pairings. It was the perfect way to welcome our residents home after a long day at work.
The Seahawks Monday Night Football game was a full day of fun here at Stadium Place!
Our friends from King 5 turned our 5th floor podium into their broadcast studio for the day as the countdown to kickoff got rolling bright and early with the King 5 Morning Show.
Behind the scenes of King 5 Morning News live at Stadium Place
We loved having Joyce Taylor raise our 12th man flag live on King 5!
The King 5 show included special guests including the Seahawks mascot, Blitz and the Seahawks Blue Thunder drumline. Residents enjoyed meeting the King 5 team as well as the show’s special guests. They even got to have some fun playing anchor at the King 5 anchor desk!
This was also the day of the King 5 Northwest Harvest food drive at Stadium Place. Everyone that donated received a pair of twelfie sunglasses! Twelfie fans graciously donated food and cash that will be used to provide 22,000 meals for those in need in our area.
Happily loading up all of the food donations!

Once it was time to get serious about the game, our team got serious with a resident party. We served up an Oktoberfest inspired feast while cheering on the Hawks. There were some very creative costumes to admire while we enjoyed bratwursts off the grill with all the fixings along with pretzels, tasty deserts and a German beverage or two!

To top off an already incredible day, the Seahawks beat the Detroit Lions 13 to 10! Go Hawks
Every quarter Pillar Properties selects a non-profit organization to support as part of our Pillar Passions Program. As a locally owned private family company, we want to do all we can to make a difference in our community.
This quarter Pillar Properties is supporting Folds of Honor in their efforts to provide educational scholarships to the family members of American service men and women who are injured or killed in the line of duty.
For the month of September we partnered with the area golf courses to support this worthy organization. Pillar Properties purchased special Titleist Pro-V1 Patriot Golf Day golf balls to support Folds of Honor to give to our residents when they played at the participating golf courses.
We also had events at each of our properties to support Folds of Honor. Our incredibly talented maintenance team constructed a full-size miniature golf hole for our residents and team members to putt on. All it took was a donation to Folds of Honor to test your putt putt skills! Every hole-in-one made earned you a raffle ticket to win some pretty awesome prizes including gift cards, golf gear and swag from the 2015 U.S. Open!
It was a perfect sunny day for putt putt at the Stadium Place Folds of Honor Event!
But of course, what’s an event without food! We wanted to be a little more creative than traditional BBQ so we catered in TAT’s Philly Cheesesteaks with all the fixings!
Residents racked up raffle tickets with their impressive putting skills! We loved to see how thrilled they were with their prizes.
It was a great day putting for a great cause!
What a night! In support of The 12 Foundation The Nolo rooftop served as a sky-high runway to showcase some amazing fan fashion.
Seahawks tight end Luke Willson enjoying the show!
The rooftop deck at The Nolo was transformed with lights and live music to showcase the glitz and glamour of Lady 12 apparel. This was the first fashion show for the line that is developed by Brendalyn and Joe Tafoya. You may remember Joe from his days playing for the Hawks and his appearance in the first Super Bowl. The runway also featured men’s fashion from current Seahawk Luke Willson’s Stormtech clothing line.
Check out the runway on our roof top deck!
VIP seating lined the runway as local celebrities showed off this season’s hottest clothing designs! The breathtaking view from the rooftop was the perfect backdrop for the photographers waiting at the end of the runway capturing every step!

Joining Joe Tafoya to present the fashion and get the crowd excited was Margaret Larson, host of KING TV’s New Day Northwest.
